Why Train with us at Georgetown-NIH?
The NIH/MedStar Georgetown University Hospital neurology residency program is an ACGME-accredited categorical program with 8 slots per year. We provide excellent clinical training in various sub-specialties as all residents rotate through Georgetown University Hospital, Washington Hospital Center, Children's National Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health, in addition to numerous ambulatory sites in the area.
This is a front-loaded program where residents are given ample elective time to foster individual growth and explore their interests starting in PGY2. We offer a Global Health Track for residents who wish to explore international health, Clinician/Scholar, and a Clinician/Scientist Track.

Uniquely, the Clinician/Scientist resident becomes an NIH clinical fellow--the equivalent of an NINDS R25--during PGY2 year, with research mentorship and protected time starting as early as PGY1. NEW NIH VIDEOS!

"Not to get cheesy, but Georgetown felt like the right place for me. Every single person I meet at Georgetown I enjoy being around. It has a wonderful learning environment that stimulates you to learn but also realizes that you still have to enjoy life during residency. Everyone here is very encouraging and supportive. Overall, Georgetown is a wonderful place to learn neurology. You not only get to see the "bread and butter" of neurology but also the "zebras" as well. There is never a dull moment here!"
